Among other qualifications, our guest holds a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of Lyon II, a diploma in Classical Guitar and Solfège from the Conservatory of Vénisieux, and a PhD in Human and Social Sciences from the University of Almería for his thesis 'From popular to flamenco: musicological and cultural aspects of the flamenco guitar' (16th to 19th centuries).

Apart from all that, the professor Norberto Torres He is the author of important essays and articles on the History of the Flamenco Guitar and a reference for understanding the evolution of the instrument flamenco par excellence. Taking advantage of his time in Jerez, he visited our Space to present his two latest works: 'Antonio Torres and Julián Arcas, a new expression for the Spanish guitar' and the biography 'Juan Miguel González, the guitar-making musician'. Both were published by the Institute of Almerian Studies in 2025.
