La The Compass Association that unites us has announced its poster for XI Heel Flamenco from Utrera which will be held from February 22 to 28, 2025 in the aforementioned town of Seville. This eleventh edition will have as its main protagonist the Sevillian dancer Manuela Carrasco, which will be honored at the only seven-day festival in Andalusia dedicated to dance flamenco.
A very flamenco week in which the figure of the artist will be highlighted with the participation of family and friends. There will be no shortage of performances, workshops and talks. One of the outstanding activities is the meeting of flamenco dance schools. A meeting that will be attended by schools not only from Utrera, but also from different towns in Andalusia with the aim of promoting flamenco dance. canteof the flamenco and teach them the essential values of this art.
Manuela Carrasco is one of the most revered figures in art jondo. Nicknamed by Juan De Dios Ramírez Heredia as the Goddess of flamenco When she was barely eighteen years old, this dancer had a very high-caliber career.
Daughter of the dancer José Carrasco El Sordo and Cipriana Salazar Heredia, she began dancing at a very young age. She began her training as an autodidact, although she was also strongly influenced by her family environment and teachers such as Carmen Amaya and the trio Los Bolecos.
